I use this title because Olivia was so small when she was born (preemie weighing 1 lb, 7 oz) and she has been diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI). OI is a brittle bone disease and when I was first thinking about how fragile she could be, I thought about a butterfly. How you have to handle them with such care so that you don't rip their wings. This is how I see Olivia, like a butterfly, Beautiful but to be handled with care so that you don't break the wings...
Olivia likes
- Alice in Wonderland (favorite movie right now, we watch it at least once daily)
- bossing the older cousins around (she's just learning how to do this real good)!
- being in the pool
- her sandbox
- playing with (or chasing is more like it) the cats
- Snuggling with Daddy!
- Reading books (she brings them to you, lets you read a little bit and then finishes reading the book to you)
- Pretending to cook and feeding mommy and daddy (and her babies)!
- Singing to, kissing and loving her baby dolls (she's a good little mommy to those babies)
Our little miracle
I got into this after I saw my sisters blog for her children. This is a lot easier to do than sending out individual emails. I am trying to go back over the last year and a half and put blogs from Olivia's journey starting at the beginning. So most of you have already heard the stories or seen the pictures. But for those of you who aren't familiar with Olivia's story, I hope you enjoy. I will try my best to continue to update periodically, so every one can keep up with our precious little girl. She is a doll and a blessing to everyone. She has a way of lifting up spirits like you wouldn't beleive. If you know Olivia personally you know what I'm talking about. She can take your worst day and make it 100% better. It is great to have such a wonderful little girl in our lives and I thank God everyday for the blessing that he has bestowed upon us! I hope you enjoy Olivia's blog! We do volunteer for March of Dimes, who does research that benefits all babies, not just preemies and for the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, (the brittle bone disease that Olivia has).
